OnePlus Ace 3 announced with last year’s tech, but it’s still hella tempting

In 2023, OnePlus announced the OnePlus Ace 2, and this year, the company has followed up with its successor in the form of the OnePlus Ace 3 in an event that was held in China.

Diving into the specs of the phone, the OnePlus Ace 3 appears to be powered using some of 2023’s hardware, namely the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Given that the Gen 3 has been released, it feels borderline dated, but don’t let that put you off because given the rest of the phone’s specs and price, it’s a really good deal.

Other features of the Ace 3 include 12/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, the use of a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 1-120Hz. It also boasts a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits which is insanely bright.

The phone will also pack a triple camera setup which includes a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. As for storage, it will be configurable up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 memory. The Ace 3 will also come with a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC fast which OnePlus claims will allow the phone to go from 0% to 100% in just 27 minutes.

As for pricing, the base model will be sold for 2,599 yuan which is roughly $365 which is honestly pretty great given its specs and features. As for the international variant, the Ace 3 is expected to debut as the OnePlus 12R alongside the OnePlus 12’s global launch later this month.
